Pumpkin Patch

I took Dallas to the pumpkin patch at Trenholm Rd. United Methodist Church while we were in Columbia. He was not really in the mood to smile until he found a tennis ball and perked up a little bit. He had fun running down the rows of pumpkins and knocking them over. He got very upset when he could not pick one up! We had a good time in Columbia and Daddy was able to join us for the game. We are currently in Asheville and then it is back to Pennsylvania. The countdown is on for the final times of burning up the road from SC to PA. It is about an 8 1/2 hour trip but can be longer with a 2 year old and 2 mini daschunds. We can't wait to only have 2 1/2 hours to Columbia or 45 minutes to Greenville.

We spent last weekend in Raleigh at Justin and Kellee's house. Bebe and PawPaw were there too and we had a great time. We went to the USC game on Saturday and it was a beautiful day. From there, little Dallas and I headed to Columbia and Daddy Dallas went to Asheville. We have purchased a home in Asheville and can't wait to move. Our house is now on the market in Shippensburg and we hope that it will move quickly. Our plan is to be in our new home by Christmas. Little Dallas was diagnosed with an ear infection 2 weeks ago and we just took the last dose of medication this morning. He has been fine and then at lunch today he had a break down. When he woke up from his nap he was complaining that his ear hurt. We went to the doc in the box since we no longer have a pediatrician here, and he either has a new infection or the last one did not go away. As some of you know, we almost had tubes put in his ears in January but we held off and these are the first infections he has had since then. He pitched a fit at the doctor's and cried the whole time. I felt so bad for him. When we got home he wanted to go outside and from these pictures you wouldn't even know he is sick. We are headed to Walgreens to pick up the presciption and some tylonol. I am still hopeful that we can keep some of our plans for the rest of the week which included a trip to the pumpkin patch and the SC State Fair.

A-Cheem

Last night Dallas was sitting in the chair with me after dinner and he started saying "a-cheem, a-cheem". I thought I knew what he wanted but I asked him to show me. I followed him to the kitchen and right to the freezer door. I asked him if he wanted ice cream while I took it out of the freezer and he said, "yeah, yeah, yeah" and started jumping up and down. I think he was just as excited about the ice cream as he was that I understood what he wanted. He was very cute and here is a few picture to prove how much he enjoyed it! I have been so busy getting things ready to put our house on the market. We have had inspectors, realtors, and appraisers coming. We sold our first house in 2 weeks and our second in 1 week so I told our realtor there was no pressure! We have found a house in Asheville that we want to buy so we are getting things done on that end as well. Thanks for all of the well wishes and congratulations from the last blog--we love reading your comments!

Congratulations Mr. Vice President!

We have exciting news to share with everyone! We are moving to Asheville, NC!!! Dallas has received a promotion at Volvo and he will now be the Vice President of the Road Machinery Business Line in North America. He will be working at the U.S. corporate headquarters which is in Asheville. We can't wait to move and be closer to family and friends. Our little town of Shippensburg has grown on us and we will always have a special place in our hearts for it, but I have to say we are so excited to be coming "home" to the south! Asheville is an absolutely beautiful place and we are planning on being there for a long time. I don't know any details yet about how quickly we will move but hopefully by the end of this year we will be settled in our new home. We are so proud of Daddy Dallas for all of his hard work and we are looking forward to this next chapter of our lives.

It has been awhile since our last post. We were all sick last week and are just getting better. Little Dallas and I spent some time outside today raking leaves. He was quite the little helper until he realized it was much more fun to jump in the leaves. He would get a running start and jump right into the pile. The neighbor kids came over and the 3 of them had fun playing. Unfortunately most of my pictures turned out blurry for some reason so these are the best of what turned out. Summer is my favorite season but fall is a close second. We are looking forward to the fall apple festivals, drives through the mountains to see the beautiful colors of fall, and Halloween hay rides! Dallas has not 1, but 2 costumes. They are so cute. As you might have figured out, Daddy and I could not agree on costumes so I bought both. Maybe I should conduct a poll to decide which one he should wear!

Hope your ready for lots of pictures!

We made it back to PA on Saturday and have been settling back in today. We had such a good time at the beach in Garden City. Dallas and I both have many happy memories of going to the beach growing up and we are so happy to continue that tradition with Dallas. It took him a day to warm up to the ocean but Nana got him in and before long he was dragging us down to the ocean so he could jump waves! My friend Lee McLeod came to visit from Charleston and we had alot of fun. Dallas really took to her and they had fun building sand castles together. Bebe and PawPaw were able to come visit for a day since they were close by at their place in Little River. Each grandparent had a turn holding Dallas by the hands and helping him jump waves. He loved splashing around in the pools that were left when the tide went out. He picked shells with PawPaw, jumped in the pool LOTS of times only to Nana (not to Mommy!). He played football with Daddy, walked the beach with Poppy, and played in the ocean with Bebe. Of course I did lots with him too but for the time being little Dallas does not think I am as fun as everyone else. Apparently I just feed, bathe, change diapers, and take care of all his needs then get told NO! to everything! I think this is my official Mommy welcome to the toddler club! One quick story about the pink swim suit--I was on the hunt for this particular one piece suit that has a tube around the waist. I looked several places and at the last stop there was one box left right in front of my face. I was so happy and took it up front to pay. The clerk asked if I had a bicycle pump to blow it up and since I did not, he said he would inflate it. He opened the box and pulled out a hot pink suit! I immediately asked him to see if there was another one somewhere telling him that it was for a boy. He ran off only to come back saying that it indeed was the last one. I did not hesitate in my decision to purchase it anyway but I did smile to myself thinking of the reaction to come from Daddy Dallas. It was just as expected but the suit did work great! I even had to ask him permission to include the photo on the blog but as you all know he has a good sense of humor and only asked that I included the story. Thanks to everyone for making our week so much fun!

Leaving for Garden City

We are literally running out the door but I wanted to share a few pictures from the park since I won't be able to blog for a week or so. We have had a great time and thank you so much to Bebe and Paw Paw and Nana, Poppy and Uncle Whit for all of their help and love! We love you all so very much too!

Congratulations to Justin and Kellee!

We are thrilled that we will now have new titles as Aunt, Uncle, and cousin! Justin and Kellee are expecting a baby that is due in March. We can't wait to meet the newest edition to the Reeves Clan and have a new playmate for little Dallas! We spent several days over the Labor Day weekend in Little River with Justin and Kellee and Bebe and PawPaw. We had nice weather and really enjoyed spending time with everyone. I was bad and did not take many pictures but I have a few to share of Dallas enjoying cheetos on the boat. Bebe and PawPaw were nice enough to take little Dallas back to Greenville so I could help Dad with his new house. We got alot done today but I miss my little man! I will get him tomorrow and then we head to Garden City on Saturday. We really miss Daddy and can't wait to see him next week.
