Driving with Daddy

Dallas and I were returning from the park yesterday as Daddy was coming home from work. He pulled over to the side of the road on our street and surprised us. Little Dallas wanted to get out of the stroller and go see Daddy, so we put him in his lap and let him help Daddy drive home. Bathtime arrived and unfortunatley little Dallas slipped in the tub and split his chin. I was right there and it still happened! I felt awful but I just couldn't catch him it happened so fast. Anyway, I scooped him up and we went to Daddy who made sure we didn't need stiches. It wasn't too bad so we put a band-aid on with some neosporin. He cried for a good while but he is just fine. I took one of these pictures back in the bathroom where it happened and you can see part of the band-aid and that his eyes are teary--he didn't like being back in there. The last picture is before bed and as you can see he felt just fine and he left the band-aid on!

Memorial Day

It was a beautiful day here today. We spent alot of time outside. We took little Dallas to the Shippensburg Memorial Day Parade. He had such a great time watching and waving at everyone going by. Someone walked by handing out flags and he grabbed Daddy's so he could have one in each hand and started waving them all over. I took him to watch the softball tournament going on at the park right by our house. I told him how Mommy used to play and how much fun she had. He watched intently until we walked on up to the park to play there. On this Memorial Day we would like to thank all of those brave men and women who are currently serving and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.

We are still busy with projects around the house. Daddy Dallas has been working hard building the fence for our backyard. We have had some rain delays but that is okay because the rain is much needed! I try and pack as much as I can into my 1 1/2 to 2 hours while little Dallas is napping on my indoor projects. I snapped these pictures of him as he awoke from his nap. He doesn't always wake up quite this happy or with such interesting hair but I suppose this was an especially good nap!

Male Bonding

We are working on lots of projects on the inside and outside of our house. Daddy Dallas is getting ready to build a fence so we have been outside alot. Tonight after work he rented a mini-excavator to remove some stumps from the shrubs he cut out last weekend. Dallas Jr. had such a good time watching his Daddy operate the "tractor"! Any piece of equipment from lawnmower to snowblower he calls a tractor. Daddy took him for a ride and let him push the levers. He took it very seriously and was really paying attention to what he was doing. We were at the park yesterday and they have some little digger toys in the sand so he got some good practice in before today. As much fun as he had, Daddy Dallas had more. He loves his big toys!

Dallas is here!

I went to workout this morning and took Dallas Jr. to the daycare they have at the gym. Right when we walked in this little 3 year old girl said, "Dallas is here!" She had the biggest grin on her face and was so excited that they could play together. I ended up seeing her mother while we were exercising and she said that her daughter kept talking about Dallas and was hoping he would be there. When I went to get him, the lady that watches the kids commented that he is so good and that she wished her kids were half as good as him. That was a great start to our day. It started raining when we left so we played inside for the rest of the day. It was a nice, light, steady rain so it was wonderful for the flowers we planted on Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful Mom and to my wonderful mother-in-love, Barbara! We hope that you both had a great day and we thank you for all that you do for us. I had a super Mother's Day with my boys. We had a big brunch with pancakes, eggs, bacon, and cheese grits. We planted flowers and watched a movie while Dallas Jr. was taking his nap. They gave me some beautiful roses and cards too! Dallas Jr.--I love being your Mommy and it is my privledge to do so every day! Thank you for making it fun, challenging, and so rewarding. I love you!

Lowe's

We went to Lowe's last night after Dallas got off of work. We could not leave without sitting on the tractor's (lawnmowers)! I happened to have the camera so I snapped these to share with everyone.

We continued my birthday celebration this past weekend with Tom, Virginia, Rowan, Uncle Justin and Aunt Kellee in Maryland. We spent some time on the Chesapeake on Tom's boat. It was overcast and a little chilly but we had a good time and the boys really enjoyed it. Rowan fell asleep and Dallas drove the boat and looked at the water. They looked so cute in their life vests. Dallas also had a great time swinging in the hammock. I think we will have to get one for our backyard now! Saturday night we had a babysitter for the boys and went to dinner and out afterwards. Thanks to everyone for helping me celebrate for one extra weekend!

Fun on the Tractor

One of the highlights of Dallas' time in Greenville was riding the tractor with Paw Paw. He was so motivated to ride it he even learned how to say "tractor" really quickly so he could tell them that he wanted to ride it. I have shown him this video several times and he waves at himself and yells out "tractor!" He is just the cutest thing I have ever seen!!!
