Back to School

Showing off in the bath

Riding his Volvo excavator from Daddy

It was back to school today after spring break last week. We had a big week with Brianne being born and spending the weekend in Columbia. Little Dallas and I went to Columbia on Friday and on Saturday I returned to Asheville without him so Dallas and I could have a date night. Little Dallas loves spending time with Noah, Poppy, and Uncle Whit and we thank them for taking care of him so we could go out alone. It was kind of strange to be at dinner without him because we could actually have a whole conversation and enjoy our meal at a normal pace. When we got up to leave I found myself checking the table for cups, cars, and crayons! We missed him but it was really nice to have a night to ourselves.

Brianne made her debut early this morning at 12:07. She weighs 7 pounds and 3 ounces and is 21 1/2 inches long. Mom and baby are both doing great. We made it to Raleigh last night and were able to visit with them this morning. She is so beautiful and we are so excited for this newest addition to the family!

Happy Easter!

Little Dallas had a great time this morning searching for Easter eggs and eating the chocolate inside! The pictures were much better today too!

First Attempt at Easter Pictures

Yesterday it was so beautiful outside that I decided to put little Dallas in his Easter outfit and get some pictures outside. Apparently he was not as into this as I was as you can see by the pictures!

Tid Bits

I took little Dallas to see the Dr. Seuss movie, "Horton Hears a Who" after I picked him up from school this week. We had such a good time. We ate popcorn and bunch a crunch and he sat in my lap the whole time because the seat kept flipping up on him. I tried to show him that he could sit on his knees and that it would not flip up but he was not interested in that. I have to say, I did not mind him sitting in my lap anyway because that does not happen so much anymore! We are anxiously awaiting Monday as Kellee and Justin will be going in for a scheduled induction. Brianne is just too comfortable in there so they are going to have to help motivate her along to come and meet all of us! We are planning to drive over to Raleigh Monday afternoon to be there. We have hit a dead end with the potty training. This is the most frustrating thing we have dealt with so far. For such an independent child, I am surprised that he has not mastered this yet. He was doing great telling us that he needed to go or just going when we would ask. He even prefers standing up because he thinks it is fun. All of the sudden he just lost interest and says "NO" when we ask him if he needs to go. I am making a chart to put in there with stickers to stick on when he goes, flushes, washes hands, etc. and I am really hoping this works. I also think I may just put big boy underwear on and let him go. He is a little OCD about being clean so I hope having wet britches might just be enough to motivate him back to the potty. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

Unfortunately I cannot get the video to upload to blogger or YouTube so I will have to get my tech guy on it when he gets home from work! (Yes, it is 9:00 pm and the poor thing is still at work). Hopefully we will get it working, but if not, here are a few of the still shots.
On Saturday night we went to eat at a restaurant called "The Fiddlin' Pig". It is a barbeque place that has live bluegrass music on the weekends. We have tried to go before only to be told there was an hour or more wait which does not work with a 2 year old or an impatient husband. I have to admit I do not care to wait that long to eat anywhere either. Anyway, we decided to go early, at 6:00, hoping to avoid the crowd. There was already a line formed but they told us 30 minutes so we waited in the car and let little Dallas watch a movie until it was time. We were called after only 15 minutes and settled in at our table. Once the music started we could not keep litte Dallas in his seat. He had a blast dancing around with the other kids. When it finally occured to me to video some of it instead of taking still shots, he was pretty tired but this is a little bit of our "dancing machine". (When we were leaving I told him he was a a dancing machine and he kept saying it all night and all day on Sunday). Bebe and PawPaw came to visit on Sunday. Little Dallas thanks you for the Easter bunny and bunny bowling game!

Baby Shower

We had a baby shower for Justin and Kellee last Saturday. We are all so anxious to meet Brianne. She should be making her debut within the next 2-3 weeks. They got lots of great gifts and Brianne's room looks so cute! Kellee and Bebe have done such a good job decorating it. There is no shortage of pink in there! Dallas was a big help handing Kellee presents to open. Bebe and PawPaw were thoughtful enough to bring a gift for him to open as well. It was golf clubs and he was so excited. He has been playing with them every day since and keeps saying, "golf, golf." I forgot my camera at the shower but I snapped these on Sunday. We took little Dallas to the park--it was such a beautiful day. He insisted on carrying the golf clubs himself and then had a wonderful time hitting the ball. Daddy tried several times to show him how to correctly use the club but he had to do it his way which was one-handed! That is fine though, he has plenty of time for Daddy to show him how to swing the club with both hands.
