Snow!!!

So we are snowed in for the 2nd day! Fortunately, we still have power because 50,000 other customers in our county do not. Little Dallas has enjoyed going out and playing in the snow. Our hill is the neighborhood sledding/snowboarding hill so he has had fun watching and playing with the older kids. Dallas snapped these pics with his phone! I still have Christmas shopping to finish so the weather is delaying that for me. Big Dallas is off work until Jan. so I should be able to finish next week since he can stay home with the kids. I tried to do alot of shopping online but the items I needed have been out of stock for weeks now so I won't be getting them. Santa has fallen down on the job this year but I suppose having a baby is a valid excuse. Althougth probably not to little Dallas!

Christmas Play

Little Dallas had his Christmas play at school Thursday night. He was a Wiseman. We made his costume from a bathrobe, scarf, bib that I spray painted gold, and his favorite piece, a crown. We spray painted the paper gold after we cut out the shape and then hot glue gunned the jewels in place. Scissors and hot glue guns are about the extent of my "craftiness" being that I am no Martha Stewart. It was pretty easy though and we had fun doing it together. He made his entrance down the aisle of the church and up on to the stage just beaming the whole way. The finale was the whole class singing "Away in a Manger" and shouting "Merry Christmas" at the end. They all did a great job and were so cute! Poppy came up from Columbia and Bebe and PawPaw came from Greenville to cheer him on. We ate at what little Dallas calls, "the dumplin place" or what the rest of us call "Craker Barrell". He LOVES chicken and dumpling's so we took him for his favorite meal before the play. Poppy left just in time Friday morning as the snow started falling. We ended up with about 9 inches of snow. Friday was supposed to be the Christmas luncheon at his school but school was cancelled. This has left me with enough meatballs to feed 160 people and I am sure all the other parents have massive amounts of whatever dish they were bringing as well. Guess I will have to try and channel Martha Stewart once again and find some creative ways to make meals out of all of those meatballs!

Visit with Santa

We ventured to the mall on Sunday to visit Santa. Little Dallas was very excited and not nervous at all. He reheresed his list on the way and practically ran to Santa's lap to tell him. He did forget a few things and tried to run back saying, "oh no, I forgot to tell him about..." I told him not to worry that we would include the items on the list to Santa in the mail and he would still hear of them. We also visited the Build a Bear Workshop for the first time. He had so much fun making a police bear for himself and a bunny for Sterling that he will give her at Christmas. I can't believe how fast Christmas is approaching and I have barely started shopping!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. Our family has so much to be thankful for this year! All of our immediate famliy has finally spent some quality time with Sterling now that she is home. We spent Thanksgiving day in Greenville and my parents came up to visit over the weekend. Whit came by last weekend and did a good job holding Sterling. He didn't look too uncomfortable as you can see in the picture. I am posting a few pictures from the last few days. (I am not posting one of us in Greenville with everyone because it is for Bebe's Christmas card! )

We finished Sterling's room just in time. It looks like she is coming home tomorrow and we are so excited! Here are a few pics of our precious angel's new room. It needs a few more pictures but I love how it turned out! Thank you Bebe and Big Dallas for all your work to make my vision come true!

Leaves and Halloween

Little Dallas had a great time on Halloween despite the rain. We headed out with umbrellas and made it to several houses in our neighborhood. Brianne was a cute tulip and Dallas had a last minute costume change from Ironman to Spiderman. While we have been commuting back and forth to Greenville to be with Sterling, the leaves all came down and we had to spend some time outside getting them all raked up. Little Dallas had fun as usual jumping and playing in the leaves. It has been so cold here lately. I think we missed fall with everything that we have had going on. The last 5 weeks have been a bit of a blur. I hope to keep up the blog better and I know once we get Sterling home I will be posting plenty of pics of her too.

Sterling Jordan Reeves

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of our baby girl. She was due this Dec but due to some complications with her birth mother, she was induced this weekend at 31 weeks. She was born on 10/11/09(my mom's bday too)! She weighs 3 pounds 10 ounces and is 17 3/4 long. Considering her preemie status she is doing very well. We have a while to go before we can bring her home as she will need to stay in the NICU for several weeks. I was able to hold her today and she is just the sweetest little thing. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she has a way to go. We feel confident in her ability to keep getting stronger because she is so loved by so many. Little Dallas is so very excited and can't wait to meet her. I'll try to keep you all updated as best I can but the next few weeks will be quite trying. We thank you all for your support and prayers and are so blessed to have such fantastic friends and family!

Sky Top Apple Orchard

So yesterday was the much anticipated field trip to Sky Top Apple Orchard in Flat Rock, NC. Both of the 4 year old classes went on the trip and were able to bring friends and family. Bebe, Aunt Kelle, Brianne and Blake met us there to join in the fun of picking apples and taking a hayride. They did not know they would also be able to witness little Dallas in what ended up as some of his less than steller moments. Let's just say he had, "one of those days". Of course he is allowed, we all have them. It was quite chilly yesterday morning which was nice as it added to the whole "fall is here, lets go pick apples" experience. He is usually patient and so good while mommy wants to take pictures. Not so much yesterday. As you can see from the pictures he would not look or would close his eyes. The model was not "feeling it". Brianne picked up his slack though and was all smiles and working her super cute outfit, brown leggings, tan sweater and matching tan boots complete with a bow on the boots and in her hair. Unfortunatley,I missed getting her picture while she had them on. She was having a little trouble walking in them so she had to change to more comfortable Keds. We are going to have to work on her getting the whole concept of suffering with aching feet and trying to act like you can walk even when you really can't because the shoes hurt so bad. Fortunatly for her she has a fashion savvy mommy, aunt, and Bebe to teach her all about how to keep a smile on her face while trying to walk in gorgous but painful shoes!
We had fun for the most part and Blake was such a good boy. We picked lots of apples and enjoyed the hayride and animals. The one moment Dallas did smile for a picture was with the girl he likes the best, McKenna. She gave him his "first kiss" (on the cheek) a few weeks ago. They are so cute!!

We went to visit Great Grandmamma in Georgia at the end of August. She is doing great and had so much fun playing with little Dallas' knights and horses. She was so excited to see him and really didn't pay much attention to Poppy or me!!

4 Year Old Kindergarten

Little Dallas started back to school this morning. He did just fine. He gave me a hug and said, "Bye" and then sat right down and started building blocks with the two other boys that he knows in the class. I am looking forward to him making lots of new friends this year. This class is much bigger than last year and some of his friends from last year went to new schools this year so there are many new faces. Little Dallas is just the sweetest and we are so proud of the little boy he is becoming. He loves to joke and laugh. He is so loving always giving hugs and kisses. He loves playing outside and can really hit a baseball! We are looking forward to t-ball starting in the spring. He starts taekwondo tonight. He is very excited about that. He will also be doing gymnastics. It isn't actually gymnastics but a good 45 minutes of activity to wear him out--at least that is the way I see it! Here are just a few recent pictures I have taken of him. He is my little model and is such a trooper about me wanting to always take his picture.
