Sterling is now officially a Reeves even though we have felt like she was from the beginning. We thank Bebe, PawPaw, Justin, Kellee, Blake, and Poppy for coming to support us. It was very nice to have you all there in the courtroom and to celebrate with lunch afterwards. Brianne was in school and Noah and Uncle Whit had work obligations but we know they were thinking about us. Our judge was very nice and he was all smiles and quite eager to hold Sterling. I suppose it was a nice way for him to start his day in family court since not all people are there for good reasons. We are now happy to move forward with our lives and have all of the legal process behind us. Thank you all again!

We are in Columbia staying with Noah while big Dallas is in Maui for a conference. I am really bummed about not being there too but Sterling is just too young for me to leave right now. At least I was able to spend 6 weeks there after graduating so that makes it a little better(only a little though). We are really enjoying the weather since we have gotten here. The daily highs in the 60's have been like summer compared to the teens that we left in Asheville. The weatherman described it as an "arctic blast" and we would definitely agree with that! So far we have been to the park, Monkey Joe's in Lexington, and the dinosaur exhibit at the SC State Museum. Little Dallas and I had alot of fun at the museum learning about the dinosaurs and then exploring the rest of the exhibits as well. I have been there many times before but I enjoyed it much more this time. Watching little Dallas' eyes light up at the huge great white shark hanging in the foyer, the life size train he could climb in, and the interactive science exhibit where he learned about gravity, rope and pulley systems, and centrifugal motion was really special. Sterling slept most of the time and when she wasn't she was an angel. She didn't start crying until we were on the way home and she was ready to eat! She is up to 9 pounds 6 ounces as of last week. She has just started smiling when you make faces at her and that is the best feeling. She loves to look at little Dallas and he gets more smiles from her than anyone else so far.
Big Dallas and I are looking forward to next Monday. It is the day of our adoption finalization. It will be nice to have all of the legalities buttoned up and move on from all of the paperwork that comes with adoption. It has all been worth it though. Sterling is such a blessing!

We met Bebe and PawPaw in Hendersonville for dinner on Monday night. Not sure what prompted little Dallas to do this pose but it was all on his own. Sterling was not in the mood for a picture as evidenced by her hands covering her face. It is a great picture of Bebe and PawPaw though! We thank ya'll for coming to meet us!

Christmas
Finally! I have the Christmas pictures to post. The kids had a great Christmas this year. We made cookies for Santa and ate the dough till we were sick, as usual. Little Dallas was super excited and I was surprised he went right to bed. We opened presents at our house and then after some delays(leak in basement due to massive amount of snow we received starting to melt and then a dead car battery) we finally got to Greenville in time to open presents and have dinner. We headed to Columbia on Saturday and had another Christmas there. This was the year of the superhero's and costumes to play dress up in! He received plenty of that along with lots of other good stuff! Sterling got lots of clothes and a new play mat which she is really enjoying. She also got a pretty ring from Bebe! The only gift Dallas kept looking for everywhere we went was the "black spiderman suit" as he calls it. Poppy kept it away until the end and it was the last gift he opened of the season. He put it right on and has worn it everyday since. It was an extra special Christmas this year having 2 new ones with us even though they slept through most of the fun. Can't wait to see them enjoy it more next year! Thank you to everyone for all of the gifts we received this Christmas! By the way, the picture of little Dallas from the side pouting is because he opened his presents so fast he had to wait and watch everyone else keep opening theirs. Maybe next year he will ration out his presents better.
