First Soccer Game

Dallas had his first soccer game on Saturday. I have waited 4 1/2 years for this moment. Not that it had to be soccer but whatever sport he wanted to play. His team won 2-1. Although he did not score he was the only one awarded with the defensive star for the game. We are so proud of him and can't wait to see how he and his team progress this season.

Dallas Loves to Dress up in his "Suits"

Dallas has LOTS of "suits" as he calls them to play dress up in. He had to put on his race car suit to go out and ride his hot wheels the other day. His latest addition is Darth Vador courtesy of Bebe and PawPaw! Thank you--he LOVES it!

Albino Burmese Python

The kids and I headed to Greenville yesterday to celebrate Brianne's 2nd birthday. She is so cute and growing up so fast! After her party, PawPaw took little Dallas and I to a circus. We rode elephants, he rode a pony, and we took this picture with an albino burmese python! I did not have my camera but we bought this one from the circus. Little Dallas really wanted to do it. He was not scared at all- but I can't say the same for PawPaw and I. We all sat down and the man informed me that my seat would be holding the head! Great!! It was fun and he took it to school today to show everyone. They all thought it was really cool and couldn't believe it was real snake. The rest of the show was fun too. Little Dallas favorite was the motorcycle's doing tricks in a circular cage. Thanks again PawPaw--and to Bebe for watching Sterling while we went.

We have been pretty busy lately and so anxious for spring! We have had a couple of nice days here but it was snowing again yesterday. Little Dallas is starting soccer next week and he is super excited! He wears his shorts and socks with the shin guards in them as soon as he gets home from school and asks me everyday if we can go outside and play soccer. Unfortunately it has been too cold most days but I know the warm weather is coming. Sterling is continuing to do well. She is up to 13 pounds now. She is trying to roll over now but hasn't quite made it all the way. We also tried to start on some rice cereal but she is not quite ready for that yet. She is sitting up much better and has better control over her head. She is laughing out loud and gives lots of smiles. I can't seem to catch many smiles on my camera because as soon as I put the camera up to my face she stops! I will have to have little D make faces at her while I take pictures next time. Little Dallas and I made cupcakes with green icing for his St. Patrick's Day party at school. We both enjoy baking and I hope this is something we can continue to do together even as he gets older. I snapped this picture on St.Patrick's Day with the kids in their green. Dallas insisted on wearing the glove so that is why it is in the picture. The pictures of Sterling are extra special because she is laying in a quilt my Dad had made out of pieces we found in my Grandmother's house that belonged to my great Grandmother!

Visit to Charlotte

On Sunday we drove to Charlotte to visit with big Dallas' Grandmother, Mimi, and his aunts, uncles, and one of his cousins. We had a nice time and the food was great! Thank you to Aunt Marta and Uncle Bill for hosting us all! It was so good to see you and we are so glad you were finally able to meet Sterling! I charged my camera battery in advance but did not pay attention to how many pictures were on my camera card so after just a few shots it told me it was full! I didn't get as many I was hoping for but these are really cute.

Here are some recent pics of the cousins together. We had a hard time getting everyone to look at the camera at the same time and smile so these are the best of what I got. We also had a hard time getting all 4 of them together since someone was either napping, eating, or crying. Sterling missed out on these because she was napping but we will try again next time they are all together. What a cute bunch!

Snow...Again

The snow starting falling last Friday afternoon. And it just kept coming. We ended up with 11.5 inches!!! I think that is the most snow I have ever seen. Little Dallas is FINALLY back at school today after having 2 snow days. He needed to be there just as much as I did! We watched lots of movies and did lots of coloring. We recorded his new favorite movie, Fantastic Four -Rise of the Silver Surfer that was on one of the networks. As big Dallas and I watched tv in the kitchen on the small tv and he got the nice big one in the living room. Then he would yell out, COMMERCIAL, everytime so we would come and fast forward through it. I have got to teach him how to do that himself. He just wasn't very interested in playing outside in the snow this time. Big Dallas did take him out for a few minutes each day but the snow was so high little Dallas could not even move in it. We missed our date night because of the road conditions but we were finally able to go out last night. We each got a massage at our favorite massage studio and then stuffed ourselves with steak, shrimp, chicken, and lots of rice from the Japanese Steakhouse, Ichiban. The food was really good but there is one thing I can't stand about going into one of those places. When you leave the smell is in your hair and on your clothes for the rest of the night! I already felt sick from eating so much and I did not need a reminder of it for the remainder of the evening.

Anyway, maybe I should have titled this post "Complaints" as it seems that has been the theme throughout.

On an entirely different note, Sterling is doing great and seems to be a really happy baby. She wakes up happy in the morning and is full of smiles for us. She does not like "tummy time" but does like to be held upright on your shoulder where she practices holding up her head. She is still a little bobble head but she is gaining more control every day. She is getting all those cute baby folds and wrinkles and has caught up to her size already. She is now moving into 3-6 months clothes. We are so proud of all of her progress. She has proven herself to be a trooper and has come so far from being that little 3 pound 10.5 ounce baby in the NICU with tubes. You wouldn't even know just looking at her. Her eyes are still blue and her hair is a light brown/dark blonde. She loves Sugarland and I sing it or play it in the car to get her to settle down. Wow, a blue eyed blonde who loves Sugarland??? Sounds just like her brother!
