School started several weeks ago but I am just now getting to putting the pictures up. Dallas Jr. had a great first day and has adjusted really well to his new routine and school. We had a small incident that has slowed him down that occured about 1 week into school. He fell off of the monkey bars at a local park and broke his collarbone. He has been wearing a brace for 3 weeks now and has 2 more to go. The Dr. said it is healing very well and he should be good as new. We did have to back out of flag football and his remaining 3 golf lessons due to his limited activity but he handled it pretty well. He is hoping to be back in time for basketball which should not be a problem. Sterling started attending a pre-school for the first time this year. She goes for several hours a few days a week. She was not sure what to think at first but has really taken to it. Her class is called the "Busy Bee's" which could not be more appropriate for her! They said she is really opening up and starting to make friends. She is in a 2 year old class even though she isn't quite 2 yet, so I am hoping being with some older kids will help her speech come along. They called her "feisty" so they are definatly getting to know her! She can be so sweet and loving, just don't tell her to do something she doesn't want to! She may not be 2 yet but she is certainly acting like it already! Between the two of them life stays interesting and fun. We took Dallas Jr. to Gamecock Fan Appreciation Day. He was so excited to meet Cocky. There was a huge turn out and we were only able to get Coach Spurrier's autograph. The line for Lattimore was CRAZY! We just didn't want to wait that long. Dallas Jr. has been to two games already. I think we will wait with Sterling another year or so but she is having fun wearing her Gamecock outfits and can say "football" and "Gamecock" so she is getting there!
Last Saturday Justin and Kellee came to visit and go white water rafting. While they went, we kept Blake and Brianne and all the cousins had a fun day together. They played in the playroom mostly and after nap we took them outside to run in the sprinkler. They had the most fun shooting Dallas Sr. with the water guns! Brianne wore her pretty princess dress all day, even when she napped! Dallas decided to play dress up too and put on his khaki pants and blue blazer with his King hat so they could be the king and queen while they watched How to Train Your Dragon. They all played really well together.
We had a great Harry Potter Magic themed party to celebrate Dallas Jr.'s 6th birthday. Wendell Wandell the magician entertained the audience with comedy, juggling, magic acts, and the grand finale of levitating the birthday boy! He discovered his main birthday present from us on Thursday while he was looking for his golf clubs in the car. He came in the house crying and saying he thought he saw his "big" present from us. I asked him what he saw and he said "an Xbox." At that point we had been busted so I told him it was actually a Wii and not to worry about it, it was just an accident. Once he got over what he considered "ruining his birthday present" he started asking if we could set it up. It was up and running that night and all the kids enjoyed playing it at the party. He got several games as presents and has really had fun with it. Thanks to all of our families for coming and all of the help. The hot dog cooker Justin brought was awesome and a big hit for everyone.
We made it!!!! Some days it feels like 10 years and some days it seems like yesterday. Some days have been a challenge and some days have been the best of my life. Some days have been sad and some have been a roller coaster but more days than not have been filled with laughter and love. And every day I can say I was next to my best friend. And every day I loved you! Here's to 10 more baby. Love you!
We had a fun beach trip to Wild Dunes this summer! We had a great house on a lagoon by the driving range. There were two alligators that live in the lagoon and we enjoyed watching them sun bathe and swim from our balcony. The lagoon would fill up with golf balls from the range at the end of each day and the guys would scoop out the balls with a net from the house and hit them back over the water. Dallas Jr. made huge progress with his swimming in the pool. He has been hesitant to put his head in but he went for it this time and there was no looking back. He was swimming underwater by the end of the week! We kept calling him a fish but he said shark was better! Sterling enjoyed the pool too but really liked playing in lagoons left when the tide went out on the beach. The guys went on a chartered fishing trip one day and caught a several fish and a shark! Dallas Jr. crabbed, fished, and found starfish from the beach as well but really enjoyed the boat trip. Noah and her cousin Susan who joined us from Texas took a day trip into Charleston. We also celebrated Whit's birthday! We enjoyed lots of good home cooked meals thanks to my hubby and several meals out that were nice as well. It was a good week and we really enjoyed spending time with everyone! Now we are planning a big birthday party and getting ready for the start of kindergarten. More pictures to come soon from these exciting events!
