Sky Top Apple Orchard

So yesterday was the much anticipated field trip to Sky Top Apple Orchard in Flat Rock, NC. Both of the 4 year old classes went on the trip and were able to bring friends and family. Bebe, Aunt Kelle, Brianne and Blake met us there to join in the fun of picking apples and taking a hayride. They did not know they would also be able to witness little Dallas in what ended up as some of his less than steller moments. Let's just say he had, "one of those days". Of course he is allowed, we all have them. It was quite chilly yesterday morning which was nice as it added to the whole "fall is here, lets go pick apples" experience. He is usually patient and so good while mommy wants to take pictures. Not so much yesterday. As you can see from the pictures he would not look or would close his eyes. The model was not "feeling it". Brianne picked up his slack though and was all smiles and working her super cute outfit, brown leggings, tan sweater and matching tan boots complete with a bow on the boots and in her hair. Unfortunatley,I missed getting her picture while she had them on. She was having a little trouble walking in them so she had to change to more comfortable Keds. We are going to have to work on her getting the whole concept of suffering with aching feet and trying to act like you can walk even when you really can't because the shoes hurt so bad. Fortunatly for her she has a fashion savvy mommy, aunt, and Bebe to teach her all about how to keep a smile on her face while trying to walk in gorgous but painful shoes!
We had fun for the most part and Blake was such a good boy. We picked lots of apples and enjoyed the hayride and animals. The one moment Dallas did smile for a picture was with the girl he likes the best, McKenna. She gave him his "first kiss" (on the cheek) a few weeks ago. They are so cute!!

We went to visit Great Grandmamma in Georgia at the end of August. She is doing great and had so much fun playing with little Dallas' knights and horses. She was so excited to see him and really didn't pay much attention to Poppy or me!!

4 Year Old Kindergarten

Little Dallas started back to school this morning. He did just fine. He gave me a hug and said, "Bye" and then sat right down and started building blocks with the two other boys that he knows in the class. I am looking forward to him making lots of new friends this year. This class is much bigger than last year and some of his friends from last year went to new schools this year so there are many new faces. Little Dallas is just the sweetest and we are so proud of the little boy he is becoming. He loves to joke and laugh. He is so loving always giving hugs and kisses. He loves playing outside and can really hit a baseball! We are looking forward to t-ball starting in the spring. He starts taekwondo tonight. He is very excited about that. He will also be doing gymnastics. It isn't actually gymnastics but a good 45 minutes of activity to wear him out--at least that is the way I see it! Here are just a few recent pictures I have taken of him. He is my little model and is such a trooper about me wanting to always take his picture.

Blake Francis Reeves

Congratulations to Justin, Kellee, and big sister Brianne! Blake was born August 17th at 2:17 pm. He weighs 7.5 pounds and is 19 inches long. We visited him this morning and he is just beautiful!

We celebrated little Dallas' 4th birthday last Saturday. We had it at a gymnastics studio here in Asheville. Some of his friends from school and the Asheville Raquet Club were able to come. Bebe, PawPaw, Noah, Poppy, Uncle Justin, Aunt Kellee, and Brianne were also there. All the kids had a great time. Dallas got LOTS of presents. Thanks to everyone for coming and for being such a big part of our little man's life! We love you all!

Little River Beach Trip

Bele Chere Festival

We went to the Bele Chere Festival here in Asheville today. Little Dallas loves getting his face painted and today he went all out. He picked this Tiger Face after he saw another girl get it. He LOVED it! He would not even move his face because he didn't want to mess it up. He almost passed on ice cream because he thought it would ruin it. Big Dallas snapped this with his camera phone and I didn't take out the "red eye" because I thought it added to the whole look:) He was doing a tiger growl in this picture! Too funny!

Lots to Catch up on

I have been a slack blogger lately so I have lots of pics to post. Little Dallas had a great time at Vacation Bible School. I was only able to get 1 good picture of him on the last day during their program. They were singing "This Little Light of Mine" and he put the light on his head! The weekend after VBS was over Big Dallas and I headed to Charleston to visit our friends, Lee and Yancey. Again, I only have one picture to show from it and it is of Dallas and Lee! We had a good time going to Folly Beach, an improv comedy show, and hitting downtown Charleston. While we were doing that, Noah was keeping little Dallas for us. They ventured to Edventure Children's Museum on Saturday where Noah heard a little bit of what Dallas learned at Vacation Bible School. Apparently there was a chair that resembled a "throne" and little Dallas sat in it and put each arm on the arm rests and pronounced," let my people go!" So funny!

We hosted a neighborhood 4th of July party at our house. We set up a slip n slide for the kids and they all had a great time with that. We joined Big Dallas on a work trip to Atlanta last week. Little Dallas and I had a good time going to the Georgia Aquarium, again. I tried to get him interested in the Atlanta Zoo or Children's Museum but he wasn't having it. The next day we headed to Stone Mountain. We rode the train, played putt putt, watched a nature show, ate lunch, played in a big barn converted into a children's play area, and rode the cable car up to the top of Stone Mountain. Little Dallas was not scared at all and did not want to leave the top. We walked all around and looked at the different views. We could hear music coming from somewhere below and he said it was Noah playing music at her house!
